On November 20, 2024, students of the specialty “Secondary Education (Chemistry)” of the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Education held an interactive demonstration performance for students of grades 8–9 of the Bratkovets Lyceum.
The goal of the event was to interest schoolchildren in natural sciences, demonstrate a modern approach to the study of chemistry, and promote the development of their scientific thinking.
The program of the performance included:
– exciting chemical experiments that demonstrate interesting reactions and phenomena that are easy to explain scientifically;
– interactive tasks for students that helped them consolidate the material and understand the importance of chemistry in everyday life;
– a discussion about the possibilities of teaching chemistry in higher education institutions, the prospects of the chemist’s profession, and its importance in the modern world.
The students had the opportunity to independently conduct several simple experiments under the guidance of students, which became the culmination of the event. The participants showed great interest and actively participated in all types of activities.
This event once again proved that joint work between students and schoolchildren contributes to the popularization of science and opens up new prospects for young people.
