National Girls’ Day in technology

National Girls ‘Day in Technology is an annual event dedicated to International Girls’ Day, which is celebrated annually on October 11. The event in the Ivano-Frankivsk region was organized by the STEM girls of the Precarpathian National University, who united the branches of the STEM Girls project. Today students had a total of 30 participants had the opportunity to learn about the world of “technology” from inside! Girls of Prykarpattia National University named after V. Stefanyk, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, high school students of the Lyceum named after Roman Shukhevych got acquainted with specialists in STEM areas of JSC Prykarpattyaoblenergo. Ms. Olga Tyshko told them about working in the company “from the inside”, about technology, and also handed out cool souvenirs for active participants, everyone was satisfied. The girls were organized by the teacher of chemistry Mrs. Lesya Ivanichok, and the curator of the girl STEM PNU, associate professor of the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Education, Ph.D. Anna Lutsas.

Also today, technology companies and enterprises of Ivano-Frankivsk region virtually opened their doors to girls from the Branches “STEM Girls” of Ivano-Frankivsk region to get acquainted with the peculiarities of their activities and learn how girls and women can build their careers in technology. The speakers of the event were Ms. Natalia Mukhitdinova, Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Office of the international company ELEKS, which provides software development and quality control services for market leaders and innovators.Ms. Halyna Oleksyuk, Chief Specialist for Standardization, Certification and Quality of the Water Monitoring Laboratory of the Western Region, Dniester Basin Department of Water Resources, where the condition of surface water massifs is monitored. Ms. Natalia Dovbenko, who works in the laboratory of the plant and analyzes the products produced by the State Enterprise “Kaluga Research and Experimental Plant IHP NASU”. Ms. Ivanna Gordienko, pyrolysis operator for ethylene and polyethylene production, KARPATNAFTOKHIM LLC is a leading petrochemical company in Ukraine located in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

The virtual meeting was joined by Kolomyia Lyceum №9 of Kolomyia City Council of Ivano-Frankivsk Region Coordinator – Mrs. Halyna Gurgula, Burshtyn Lyceum №2 – Coordinator – Ms. Natalia Lutsyk, Yablun Lyceum of Solotvyno Village Council – Coordinator – Coordinator The coordinator is Ms. Halyna Perechuda. A total of 66 participants attended the online event. The meeting was organized by the STEM PNU Girls Coordinator – Associate Professor of Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Education, Ph.D. Anna Lutsas and the moderator of the event Ph.D. Oksana Sabadakh.
